Where to spot
Occurs in disjunct populations in heathland and mallee scrub in southwestern Western Australia, and arid spinifex in inland South Australia and Western Australia.
How to spot
Requires extreme patience and quiet movement through dense, low vegetation. Listen for its quiet, high-pitched calls, which are often the best way to detect its presence. Binoculars are essential for confirming identification.
