Spotted
The Yellow-bellied Doradito is a small, active flycatcher, easily identified by its bright yellow underparts. It is a common inhabitant of wetlands, marshes, and reedy borders of ponds and rivers.
Where to spot
Widespread across parts of South America, particularly in southern Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina, favoring wetlands and marshy areas.
How to spot
Look for its small size and bright yellow belly. It often perches on exposed reed stems, making short sallies for insects. Listen for its characteristic high-pitched, buzzy calls.
When to spot
Resident year-round in most of its range, though some populations may show local movements. Active throughout the day, often visible perched on reeds.
