Spotted
The Drab-breasted Tody-Tyrant is a small, unassuming flycatcher with a preference for the humid forests of southeastern South America. Its plumage is generally muted, making it blend well into its environment.
Where to spot
Inhabits the humid Atlantic Forest region of southeastern Brazil, eastern Paraguay, and northeastern Argentina, typically in forest undergrowth.
How to spot
Focus on the lower to mid-levels of dense forest and forest edges. Listen for its distinctive, often buzzing or trilled calls which can help distinguish it from similar small birds.
When to spot
Active during daylight hours, often more vocal in the early morning. It is a resident species, observable year-round.
