Where to spot
Found in subtropical and temperate humid forests, forest edges, and clearings on the tepuis (table-top mountains) of Venezuela, Guyana, and northern Brazil.
How to spot
Look for it visiting flowers in humid forest environments. Its large size and distinctive dark 'brow' are good indicators, along with its overall brilliant green plumage.
When to spot
Year-round. Most active during daylight, especially when flowers are blooming and nectar is readily available.
