Where to spot
Restricted to broadleaf forests, sometimes venturing into cultivated areas, throughout the mountains of Taiwan.
How to spot
Look for its striking long blue tail, bright blue body, black head, and yellow bill. Listen for its loud, harsh, and varied calls. It is often quite bold and can be observed in mid-canopy.
When to spot
Active year-round during daylight hours. Often seen in noisy, cohesive family groups.
