Taczanowski's Nothoprocta is a high-altitude tinamou endemic to the central Andes, named after the Polish zoologist Władysław Taczanowski. It is characterized by its finely barred plumage and somewhat upright posture.
Where to spot
Primarily restricted to high-altitude grasslands and puna habitats in the Andes of central Peru.
How to spot
Observe by patiently scanning the ground in suitable habitats. Listen carefully for its distinctive whistles. They can be very wary, so a quiet approach is essential for a good view.

Most active and likely to be observed in the early morning and late afternoon.
