Where to spot
Distributed across South and Southeast Asia, including parts of India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, China, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. Inhabits temperate and montane evergreen forests.
How to spot
Look for its prominent white eye-ring. It moves actively and restlessly through the mid-story and undergrowth. Listen for its high-pitched, often chattering and whistled calls.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Most active during early morning and late afternoon, often as part of mixed-species foraging flocks.
