Listen for its characteristic loud, repetitive, and ringing 'chok-chok-chok' or 'pok-pok-pok' calls. Look for its spotted breast as it skulks quietly on or near the forest floor, often near streams or damp areas.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Most vocal during the breeding season, which corresponds with local monsoon periods. Early mornings and late afternoons are generally best for observation.
