Where to spot
Humid montane forests on the eastern slopes of the Andes from Colombia to Bolivia.
How to spot
Often detected by its loud, clear, rising and falling whistles ('wheeee-ooo'). Look for it perched upright in the mid-story to canopy of tall trees. Its uniform rufous color is the key field mark.
