A pristine white cotinga species found in the humid lowland forests of Central America. Males are entirely brilliant white with contrasting black primary flight feathers.
Where to spot
Humid lowland forests, often near forest edges or clearings, from eastern Honduras south to western Colombia.
How to spot
Scan the mid-story and canopy of tall trees, especially near fruiting trees. The male's brilliant white body with black wingtips is unmistakable. They are typically silent and can be hard to spot if sitting motionless.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Best observed during early mornings when feeding on fruits.
