Where to spot
Endemic to the islands of Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, and Timor in the Lesser Sundas, Indonesia. Inhabits forests and woodlands.
How to spot
Look for it feeding in flowering trees and shrubs, often in the mid to upper canopy. Its calls are typically soft, so patient visual searching is often more rewarding.
When to spot
Active year-round. Most visible during flowering seasons when nectar is abundant and birds are more concentrated.
