Spotted
The Peach-fronted Parakeet is a predominantly green parakeet identified by its distinctive peach-colored forehead and a narrow orange band above the cere. It is widespread in South America.
Where to spot
Open woodlands, savannas, agricultural areas, and suburban gardens across a large part of central South America, including Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina.
How to spot
Look for noisy flocks, often quite large, flying rapidly. They are typically found in the canopy of trees or feeding on the ground. Their calls are a reliable way to find them.
When to spot
Year-round. Most active at dawn and dusk when commuting to and from communal roosts.

Despite its 'peach-fronted' name, the color can vary, sometimes appearing more yellowish or orange, and is a good field mark but can be challenging in poor light.
