Pallas's Rosefinch is a beautiful, medium-sized finch, with males displaying a vibrant raspberry-red plumage. Females are streaky brown with a reddish wash on the rump.
Where to spot
Breeds across northern Asia, particularly Siberia and Mongolia, wintering south to parts of China and Korea. It prefers larch and other conifer forests, often near taiga edges and open woodlands.
