The Yemen Linnet is a small, streaky brown finch with a relatively stout bill, endemic to the mountains of Yemen.
Where to spot
Endemic to the high mountains of Yemen. It inhabits terraced cultivation, juniper woodland, and rocky slopes.
How to spot
Explore mountainous agricultural areas and juniper woodlands. Look for them feeding on seeds on the ground or in low vegetation. Listen for their typical linnet calls.
When to spot
Visible year-round in its resident range. Best observed during the breeding season when males are more vocal and active.
