Humid lowland rainforests in the Guianas, parts of Venezuela, and the Amazon Basin of Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador.
How to spot
Scan the mid-to-upper canopy, especially near fruiting trees. The electric blue patches and glowing rump are key identification features, even against the dark forest backdrop.
