How to spot
Listen for its distinctive, often buzzy calls. Look for it moving through dense grass and sedges near water, often keeping low and hidden. Patience is required to get a good view.

Year-round resident. Most active during the cooler parts of the day. Its secretive nature makes it difficult to observe, but early mornings are generally best.
