The Imeri Warbling Antbird is a small, distinctive antbird characterized by its bright yellowish-olive plumage. It inhabits the understory of humid lowland forests on sandy-soil plateaus.
Where to spot
Southern Venezuela, extreme northern Brazil (Roraima), and western Guyana, primarily in humid lowland forests on sandy soils.
How to spot
Search in the understory of campinarana (sandy-soil forest) and stunted forest. Listen for its distinctive, warbling song. Its yellowish plumage is a good visual clue if you catch a glimpse.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Best observed during early morning when active and vocal.
This species' habitat preference for areas with sandy soils and specific forest types on elevated plateaus showcases its highly specialized ecological niche within the broader Amazonian ecosystem.
