Humblot's Sunbird is an endemic species to the Comoro Islands. Males feature iridescent green and blue, a red breast, and a yellow belly. It is found in forested habitats.

Endemic to the Comoro Islands (specifically Grande Comore, Mohéli, and Mayotte), inhabiting forests, forest edges, and cultivated areas.
How to spot
Relatively common in suitable habitats on the Comoro Islands. Look for its vibrant plumage, especially the red breast and yellow belly. Listen for its high-pitched calls.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Best observed during morning and late afternoon foraging bouts. Look for it around flowering plants.
Named after Léon Humblot, a French naturalist and explorer who worked in the Comoros, this species represents the unique biodiversity of the isolated Comoro archipelago.
