Endemic to New Guinea, specifically found in the montane forests of the Snow Mountains and other highland areas in the Indonesian province of Papua.

Requires dedicated expeditions to its specific high-altitude forest habitat. Look for its bright colors in the canopy and mid-story of flowering trees. Listen for its calls.
