How to spot
Listen for the male's characteristic 'wet-my-lips' call. They are often flushed from dense ground cover, flying a short distance before dropping back into concealment.

Best observed during breeding seasons (summer in southern Africa, rainy season elsewhere) or during migration periods. Early morning and late afternoon are optimal.
