Spotted
A stunningly bright green warbler with a remarkably long, graduated tail, contrasting with a pale grey head and breast.
Where to spot
Tropical moist montane forests, particularly in the canopy and mid-story, in West and Central Africa, from Nigeria to Democratic Republic of Congo.
How to spot
Look for its brilliant green plumage and extremely long tail. It often forages actively, sometimes in mixed-species flocks. Its calls are high-pitched and somewhat reedy.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Active throughout the day. Breeding is likely tied to local wet seasons.
