Where to spot
Primarily found in Central America, ranging from southern Mexico through Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, and Costa Rica.
How to spot
Scan high above forested valleys, canyons, and near large cliff faces where they often nest. Its large size and extremely long, forked tail are unmistakable.
When to spot
Year-round resident, most active during the day, often seen in the mornings and late afternoons.
