Where to spot
Found in humid montane and subtropical forests from Mexico through Central America, and extensively across the Andes of South America into Bolivia.
How to spot
Listen for its loud, elaborate, and often repetitive song. Observe it foraging secretively on or near the forest floor, typically in dense vegetation.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Most active and vocal during the early morning and late afternoon, particularly during breeding season.
