Where to spot
Endemic to the humid montane forests and cloud forests of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in northern Colombia.
How to spot
Requires visiting the high-altitude forests of the Santa Marta Mountains. Look for a small, brown wren foraging in dense vegetation. Listen for its distinctive songs.
When to spot
A year-round resident. Best observed during early mornings or late afternoons, when it is most vocal and active.
