Lowland rainforests, forest edges, and disturbed areas with dense undergrowth in New Guinea.
How to spot
Look for them in small family groups foraging low in dense vegetation. Males are particularly eye-catching. Listen for their distinctive chattering calls.
When to spot
Active throughout the day, but often more conspicuous in the early morning or late afternoon when foraging and displaying.
