Humid lowland forests, gallery forests, and mature secondary growth across West and Central Africa, from Sierra Leone to Angola and western Uganda.
How to spot
Listen for its loud, booming territorial calls. Scan the mid to upper canopy for its green body and distinctive red face. They often perch on exposed branches in fruit trees.
