How to spot
Listen for its unique and distinctive calls at night. It can often be spotted resting on the ground or on exposed rocks and roadsides, especially with the aid of a spotlight.
When to spot
Primarily nocturnal, active from dusk onwards, with its calls being a prominent sound in its habitat after nightfall.
