The Collared Fulvetta is a striking babbler known for its bold black and white facial pattern and a distinct 'collar' around its neck. It is an active and vocal inhabitant of montane forests.
Where to spot
Found in northern Vietnam and southern China. It inhabits montane evergreen forests, preferring dense undergrowth and bamboo thickets at higher elevations.
How to spot
Look for its distinctive black and white facial pattern and black breast band. It moves actively through the mid-story and undergrowth. Listen for its high-pitched, often trilling and chattering calls.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Most active during the early morning and late afternoon. Often found in mixed-species foraging flocks.
