Where to spot
Endemic to central Myanmar. It inhabits dry grasslands, scrubby areas, and cultivated land with scattered bushes.
How to spot
Listen for its characteristic calls, which are distinct from those of similar prinias. Look for it in grassy fields, often perched on low shrubs or fences.
When to spot
A year-round resident. It is most vocal during the breeding season, making it easier to locate by sound.
This species was formerly considered a subspecies of the Plain Prinia but was recently recognized as a distinct species based on vocalizations and genetic differences.
