Spotted
A small and highly localized apalis, characterized by its plain greyish upperparts, pale underparts, and slender build. It is adapted to specific dry woodland habitats.
Where to spot
Restricted to relict patches of dry acacia-commiphora woodland in northeastern Uganda (Karamoja region) and possibly adjacent South Sudan.
How to spot
Extremely difficult to observe due to its rarity, limited habitat, and often skulking behavior. Focus on listening for its high-pitched, somewhat buzzing calls. Local guides are essential.
When to spot
Year-round resident within its extremely limited range. Any observation is highly significant.
