Bartlett's Tinamou is a small, elusive species endemic to the humid lowland forests of western Amazonia. Its cryptic plumage provides excellent camouflage against the forest litter.
Where to spot
Inhabits the understory of humid lowland forests in specific regions of Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil.
How to spot
Often detected by its characteristic, soft hooting call emanating from dense cover. Look for subtle movements in the undergrowth; binoculars are crucial for identification.

Best observed during the early morning and late afternoon when it is most active.
