The Arabian Eagle Owl is a large, desert-adapted owl found in the Arabian Peninsula. It is characterized by its pale plumage, which provides excellent camouflage in its arid environment.
Where to spot
Arid and semi-arid regions of the Arabian Peninsula, including rocky wadis, desert edges, and mountainous areas.
How to spot
Listen for its deep, hooting calls, similar to other eagle owls but distinct. Look for it perched on rocky cliffs or prominent desert trees at night using a spotlight.
When to spot
Nocturnal. Most active after sunset. Its calls are often heard echoing through rocky landscapes.

This owl is specially adapted to desert living, being able to obtain most of its water requirements from its prey, significantly reducing its need for external water sources.
