The Yemen Thrush is a thrush species endemic to the Arabian Peninsula, specifically the highlands of Yemen. It has a plain brown plumage with a paler belly and a yellowish bill.
Where to spot
Montane juniper woodlands, agricultural terraces, and wadis in the highlands of Yemen and southwestern Saudi Arabia.
How to spot
Look on the ground or in low shrubs. Its relatively plain appearance can make it blend in. Listen for its varied calls and song in its arid mountain habitat.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Active throughout the day, particularly in the morning and late afternoon.
