Where to spot
Breeds in eastern China, Korea, and Taiwan. Winters in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, Indochina, and parts of Indonesia. Found in open woodlands, farmlands, and urban areas.
How to spot
Look for its contrasting white head, often with a hint of grey, against a dark body and wings. Often seen in flocks, foraging on the ground or in trees.
When to spot
Best observed during spring and autumn migration or in winter in its non-breeding range.
