Meyer's Whistler is an attractive bird endemic to the montane forests of New Guinea, distinguished by its vibrant yellow underparts and dark head. It is a striking inhabitant of high-altitude habitats.

This species is named after Adolf Bernhard Meyer, a German ornithologist and anthropologist, who contributed significantly to the understanding of New Guinea's avifauna.
