The Usambara White-eye is an endemic species restricted to the fragmented montane forests of the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania. It is a typical white-eye with a prominent white eye-ring and olive-green plumage.
Where to spot
Found exclusively in the Afromontane forests of the Usambara Mountains, northeastern Tanzania.
How to spot
Search for small, active birds in the canopy and undergrowth of montane forests. Listen for their typical 'tsip' contact calls as they move in small flocks.
When to spot
Present year-round. Best observed during early morning and late afternoon when foraging is most intense.
