The Reunion Olive White-eye is an endemic species to Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean. It is characterized by its dull olive plumage and prominent eye-ring.
Where to spot
Endemic to Reunion Island in the western Indian Ocean. Inhabits montane native forests, often at higher elevations.
How to spot
Look for its dull olive-green plumage, prominent white eye-ring, and slightly heavier bill. Often found in active flocks, foraging in the canopy and undergrowth. Listen for its high-pitched, twittering calls.
When to spot
Resident year-round. Active during the day. Can be observed throughout the year, especially in high-altitude forests.
This species has a distinctive, somewhat more robust appearance compared to its close relative, the Reunion White-eye, and generally prefers higher elevations.
