Widespread in humid lowland and foothill forests across the Amazon and parts of the Guianas, from Colombia and Venezuela south through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil.

Learn its distinctive, often ringing calls. It forages on the forest floor but typically stays hidden in dense vegetation. Patience and a quiet approach are necessary for a sighting.
When to spot
Most active and vocal during early morning and late afternoon. Can be found year-round in its extensive tropical forest habitat.
