Where to spot
Endemic to the Philippines, specifically found in the montane forests of the Tboli region of South Cotabato, Mindanao.
How to spot
Requires specialized expeditions to its specific montane forest habitat. Look for its vibrant colors, especially the red breast and yellow belly. Listen for unique vocalizations.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Best observed during morning and late afternoon foraging bouts. Access to its habitat can be challenging due to its recent discovery and remote location.
