Everett's Monarch is a small, active flycatcher endemic to the Sula Islands of Indonesia. It is characterized by its dark plumage and a pale belly.
Where to spot
Endemic to the Sula Islands (Taliabu, Mangole, Sanana) in Indonesia, found in lowland and hill forests.
How to spot
Search the mid-story and canopy of forested areas. Look for its dark upperparts and paler underparts. Observe its active foraging for insects. Listen for its calls, which can be sharp and repetitive.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Active throughout the day, often more visible in the mornings.
This species is named after Alfred Hart Everett, a British colonial administrator and zoological collector who extensively worked in Southeast Asia.
