Where to spot
Primarily found in the Solomon Islands and some islands of the Bismarck Archipelago. It inhabits tropical moist lowland forests, secondary growth, and forest edges.
How to spot
Look for its distinctive rufous forehead and tail-fanning behavior. It moves quickly, so be patient and use binoculars. Listen for its high-pitched, chattering calls which can help in detection.
When to spot
Active throughout the day, especially in the early morning and late afternoon. It is a resident species, visible year-round.
