The Slender-billed Vulture is a critically endangered Old World vulture found in South and Southeast Asia, characterized by its relatively thin bill compared to other Gyps vultures. Its populations have been decimated by diclofenac poisoning.
Where to spot
Isolated pockets across parts of India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and possibly Cambodia. Favors open country and savannas, but its distribution is highly fragmented.
How to spot
Look for its overall dark brown plumage, naked head and neck, and notably, a more slender bill than other Gyps species. Due to extreme rarity, any sighting is significant and should be reported to conservation efforts.
When to spot
Year-round, active during daylight. Extremely rare to observe due to its critically endangered status.

Its slender bill is an adaptation that allows it to access smaller pieces of meat and internal organs from carcasses, complementing the feeding styles of larger-billed vultures.
