The Sichuan Bush Warbler is a recently described species endemic to central China. It is a secretive bird of dense forest undergrowth and high-altitude scrub.
Where to spot
Endemic to mountainous regions of central China, particularly Sichuan Province, inhabiting dense undergrowth, bamboo, and scrub in montane forests.
How to spot
Focus on dense undergrowth in montane forests. Listen for its distinctive and relatively loud song, which is often a series of rapid, explosive notes, followed by a trill.
When to spot
Year-round resident, with some altitudinal movements. Most active and vocal during the breeding season (late spring/summer).
