Spotted
The Seram Thrush is an endemic species to the island of Seram in Indonesia. It is a shy, olive-brown thrush with faint scaling on its underparts, blending well into its forest habitat.
Where to spot
Montane rainforests of Seram Island, Indonesia, preferring dense undergrowth and moist areas.
How to spot
Search the forest floor in dense, humid forests. Its secretive nature makes it difficult to spot, so listening for its calls might be helpful.
When to spot
Year-round resident. Active during the cooler parts of the day, particularly dawn and dusk.
Like many island endemics, this thrush has a restricted range and is vulnerable to habitat changes on Seram.
