Inhabits arid desert plains, rocky wadis, and stony hillsides across the Arabian Peninsula, Levant, and parts of Northeast Africa.
How to spot
Look for them foraging along tracks or near sparse vegetation in rocky desert areas. Their flight is rapid and direct, often accompanied by a whirring sound.
When to spot
Best observed during the cooler hours of the day, at dawn and dusk, when they venture out to feed.
