Spotted
The Rosy Pipit is a beautiful pipit species found in mountainous regions of Asia, known for the subtle rosy flush on its underparts during the breeding season. It is a migratory bird.
Where to spot
Breeds in the Himalayas, Tibetan Plateau, and mountains of China. Migrates to lower elevations and south to Southeast Asia and parts of India for winter. Found in alpine meadows, rocky slopes, and open cultivated areas.
How to spot
Look for its overall streaky brown appearance with the diagnostic pinkish wash on the belly (in breeding plumage). It forages on the ground, often in open, rocky areas. Listen for its song.

The rosy tinge, while subtle, gives this pipit a distinctive aesthetic, particularly when seen in good light during its breeding plumage.
