Semi-arid valleys and dry forests, often characterized by thorny scrub and cacti, in central Bolivia.
How to spot
Observation requires visiting specific conservation areas within its limited range. Look for them flying in pairs or small groups, and listen for their distinctive calls, which are less harsh than some other macaws.
