Found in West and Central Africa, from Nigeria to Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola. Inhabits primary and secondary lowland rainforests.

When to spot
Year-round resident. Active during daylight hours, often encountered within mixed-species foraging flocks in the mid-story and sub-canopy.
Like other malimbes, it has a diet primarily of insects, which it gleans from foliage and bark, often joining mixed-species foraging flocks.
