The Plain-throated Antshrike is a medium-sized antshrike with relatively unmarked throat plumage. It is a resident of dry and semi-deciduous forests in central Brazil.

Dry and semi-deciduous forests, gallery forests, and scrublands, primarily in central and eastern Brazil.
How to spot
Listen for its distinctive, accelerating 'tew-tew-tew-tew' call. Scan the mid-story and understory, particularly in areas with dense shrubbery. Often found in pairs.

Resident year-round. Most active in the early morning and late afternoon. Calls are frequent, especially during the breeding season.
