Look for its very pale, sandy-brown upperparts and nearly white underparts with a very faint or absent breast band. Observe its agile flight as it catches insects over open water or land.
When to spot
Breeding season (spring/summer) in Central Asia; winter months (autumn/winter) in South Asia.
This species undertakes long migratory journeys between its central Asian breeding grounds and its wintering areas in the Indian subcontinent, covering vast distances seasonally.
